Karibu, or welcome to Zanzibar - the enigmatic Indian Ocean islands, shaped over a millennia by the movement of peoples from the African interior, Asia and Arab world, who were moved by the monsoon winds and a love of trade. Zanzibar and its unique blend of cultures has since moved on, and it is with this magazine that we hope to promote a new and growing trade and industry - tourism - across the archipelago.

Karibu Issue 01 (October - December 2007)

Karibu in Kiswahili language means Welcome and it is befitting that this magazine welcomes and introduces visitors to Zanzibar.
I am please to join the magazine to welcome you to Zanzibar, a tourist destination where you can enjoy unique attractions. Our country, for centuries, has received visitors across the oceans. They have mixed with the indigenous people to create a truly cosmopolitan society with distinct mixture of culture - African, Oriental and Occidental.
